Firewatch : Basic

Campo Santo is modestly self described as a ‘small but scrappy’ studio, but in reality it’s comprised of a number of industry veterans who’ve worked for some of the most notable names in the business Telltale, Double Fine, 2K Marin, Klei Entertainment and Lionhead. The details on their debut release, an immersive first person mystery about a solitary wilderness fire lookout whose only companion is on the other end of a radio, are suitably scant, but the art direction and intriguing premise alone earns Firewatch a nod this month.
