GAME OF THRONES SCRIBE REFUSES TO RULE OUT BIG SCREEN FINALE

George R R Martin, the man behind the Game of Thrones books has claimed that he’d be happy to see the TV series end with a big-budget outing on the silver screen, rather than attempting to draw things to a close with a smaller budget on HBO.

Speaking in an interview with Independent Magazine, Martin said:

“If we go seven or eight seasons and then the show is still big enough that we can get the $200 million to finance a huge epic movie to end it ... sure!”
The writer also took the time to voice his disappointment at the fact that many of his more action-packed moments from the books have been unable to make the transition to the small screen on the she show due to cost.
“We’ve had to skip half the battles. Instead we have a messenger run on from off stage and say, ‘We’ve won the battle!’ Battles are very expensive.”
