Dragon Age: Inquisition Multiplayer Mode In My RPG

Long-time fans might grumble when they learn that Bioware’s fantasy franchise is getting the co-op multiplayer treatment, but stay your carefully researched Qunlat swears for now, as it turns out this unexpected feature might push all the right buttons.

For starters it’s an entirely different beast from the mainstay single-player campaign. Your character(s) in multiplayer will be totally separate, with their own skill trees, equipment loadouts and classes. As part of a team consisting of four players you’ll be tasked with crawling your way through a loot- and foe-filled dungeon, in wholesome Diablo fashion.

Intriguingly, these dungeons will be modular, so while you can pick from a general location (at launch we’re promised Orlais, Tevinter and elven ruins) each run will be slightly different. Players will need to take on specific roles such as mages, Warriors or rogues, and work together as they move forward.

A crafting layer, which allows you to boil down your pilfered gear into base components and then build character-specific equipment, ensures that everything you pick up will feel valuable regardless of whether your chosen class can use it.

There will be microtransactions, but bioware has been quick to point out that every possible item, including those found in future DLc packs, will be unlockable by playing as well as paying. That last part will need to be carefully balanced, but all else seems to be topping in Thedas in the build up to launch.
